CLACKAMAS, Ore. — Wilder Baseball of Port Angeles won three games to go into today’s semifinals undefeated at the Clackamas Legion Tournament.
Wilder will face Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in the semifinals today. The winner moves on to the championship final and the loser plays in the third-place game.
Port Angeles opened tourney play by blanking Barlow of Gresham, Ore., 9-0 on Thursday.
Josh Orr (7-0) pitched the first four innings, striking out three while allowing just two hits and walking tow.
Robbie Wheeler threw the remaining three innings, fanning three and giving up three hits.
Sequim’s Ben Grubb went 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored while Don DeFrang was 2-for-4 with a run and Wheeler also was 2-for-4 with two runs.
Shortstop Nick Lavin had an outstanding tournament as he knocked in three runs and scored two of his own against Barlow.
On Friday, Wilder nipped Cleveland 4-3, leading 4-0 in the fourth inning and holding the team off.
Chase Moore (2-2) spread out four hits while striking out six in four innings while Grubb fanned two in three innings.
Lavin went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run while Grubb was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored.
On Saturday, Wilder pounded West Linn, Ore., 12-2 in five innings, leading 8-1 after two innings.
Danny Romero (2-1) went the distance, striking out three while scattering seven hits.
Romero also had the big bat, going 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, two triples, five RBIs and three runs scored.
Lavin was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, three runs and a double while DeFrang was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run.
Justin Callahan went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run.
