PORT TOWNSEND — In the “Earth Matters” art show, on display throughout this month at the Northwind Arts Center, juror Michael Paul Miller has chosen the top pieces.
Gloria Lamson won the $50 Best in Show award for her image titled “Yes and . . .,” while $25 merit awards were presented to Sandra Offutt for her piece called “Endurance,” to Kim Kopp for “Snowmapping” and to Leslie Schnick for “Roots.”
“Earth Matters,” a showcase of 48 artists from across and beyond the Olympic Peninsula, is free and open to the public at Northwind, 2409 Jefferson St.
It’s one of numerous events — all with no admission charge — in the Port Townsend Community Read project, which this year has Turn Here Sweet Corn, Atina Diffley’s story of organic farming, as its selected book.
