PORT ANGELES — An East Third Street home was damaged by an early morning fire Friday.
The only person home at the time of the blaze managed to escape uninjured, Port Angeles Fire Marshal Ken Dubuc said.
The fire’s cause is still under investigation.
Firefighters were dispatched to the structure fire, at 413 E. Third St., just after 5 a.m.
When they arrived, flames were showing through all openings of the small, single-story home, Dubuc said.
Firefighters using foam and water from a nearby hydrant knocked the blaze down in about 10 minutes, but not before the fire caused “significant damage” throughout the entire house, Dubuc said.
He estimated the damages to the house and its contents to be about $80,000.
