PORT ANGELES — A 68-year-old woman was listed in satisfactory condition at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles on Tuesday in the wake of Monday’s single-car rollover wreck on Tumwater Truck Route.
Margaret Kintcher was extracted from her Kia sedan Monday afternoon by firefighters from the Port Angeles Fire Department, as well as members of the Port Angeles Police Department, and taken to OMC, said Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith.
Smith said the cause of the wreck was still under investigation.
He did not known where Kintcher lived.
Kintcher was traveling southbound on Tumwater Truck Route when her car left the road just south of the Eighth Street Bridge and came to rest upside-down in a dry creekbed alongside the road, police said.
It took about 30 minutes for crews to extract her from the car.
The 9-1-1 emergency call received by dispatchers is believed to have come from Kintcher, Smith said.
A cat that was in the car, restrained inside a pet carrier, was removed from the car. Smith said.
The cat’s condition was not available.
