NEAH BAY — A woman who was recovered from the water a half-mile off the coast of Neah Bay has been identified.
Jeryca W. Phelps, 36, of Larimer County, Colo., was identified Tuesday by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office with help from the FBI.
The circumstances of Phelps’ death are still under investigation, but there is no indication of foul play, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.
Deputies responded about 5 p.m. Friday to a report of a deceased woman located in the water.
A fisherman called the U.S. Coast Guard after discovering the body, the sheriff’s office said.
Neah Bay Tribal Police launched their boat to recover the body, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies asked for help to identify the woman, who had no identification but several tattoos.
She was wearing black Nike leggings and a light-colored shirt, the sheriff’s office said.
