LETTER: Hospital tacks on sticker-shocking bill

Is the future of health care where the hospital charges you to use the doctor’s office?

I am a senior citizen on Medicare who is in good health and without supplemental insurance.

I recently scheduled my annual checkup and received a doctor’s bill for around $50, which I paid.

Then I received a bill for $115.97 from Olympic Medical Center.

I called to find out what that was for and was told that that’s the hospital’s charge for the use of the doctor’s office.

It pays for the maintenance of the office and the medical assistants.

Is this the kind of future we want?
