PORT TOWNSEND — Heather Dudley-Nollette held a sizable lead over Ben Thomas for Jefferson County Commissioner, although both will advance to the Nov. 5 general election.
Dudley-Nollette had 1,522 votes, or 73.6 percent, when initial returns were released Tuesday night. Thomas had 545 votes, or 26.4 percent.
The race is for the District 1 position on the county commission, which currently is held by Kate Dean, who chose not to run for re-election.
Incumbent Heidi Eisenhour is running unopposed for the District 2 position.
