Congressman Derek Kilmer retained his seat for a fifth term against challenger Elizabeth Kreiselmaier in Tuesday’s general election.
The Democrat representing the 6th Congressional District out-polled Republican Kreiselmaier by large margins in Jefferson and Clallam counties, although she pulled in greater support in Clallam County. Both live in Gig Harbor.
Washington’s 6th Congressional District includes Jefferson and Clallam counties, as well as the counties of Grays Harbor and Kitsap, and portions of Mason and Pierce counties.
“I’m humbled that the voters of Washington’s 6th District chose to re-elect me,” Kilmer said in an email.
“I’m grateful for the choice they made. But even though it was my name on the ballot, their choice was about all of us. It was about the future we want.”
