1B GIRLS STATE BASKETBALL: Moss sets scoring record as Neah Bay advances with 72-40 win over Taholah

SPOKANE — The Neah Bay girls basketball team guaranteed itself a 1B state trophy with a 72-40 win over Taholah on Friday.

Cierra Moss scored 40 points for the Red Devils, breaking the 1B tournament record previously held by Ksenja Fredere of Wilson Creek, who scored 36 against Taholah in 2010.

Neah Bay will face Wilbur-Creston or Tulalip Heritage on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the fourth/sixth-place game.

SPOKANE — Cierra Moss has 19 points for Neah Bay as the Red Devils have jumped out to a 34-13 at halftime of the 1B girls state tournament at Spokane Arena.

Moss concluded the first half with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer.

The winner of this game will play for fourth place Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against the winner of Friday afternoon’s game between Wilbur-Creston and Tulalip Heritage.
