SEQUIM — The 2017 All-Peninsula Girls Golf Team is headlined by four-time MVP Alex McMenamin of Sequim.

Fellow team members are: Sarah Shea and Samantha Smith of Sequim and Port Townsend’s Mackenzie Lake.
Sequim’s Gary Kettel is coach of the year after leading the Wolves to a fifth-place state finish, the second top-5 finish in as many seasons.
Sequim’s Sarah Shea posted a nine-hole scoring average of 40.44 strokes, including a season-best 35 against Chimacum. She finished one stroke behind teammate Alex McMenamin at the Olympic League Championships at Cedars at Dungeness and qualified for her second consecutive trip to the Class 2A state championships. At state, Shea rallied from an opening day round of 96 to fire an 82 on the second day and finish 22nd, helping Sequim finish fifth as a team.
Sequim junior Samantha Smith posted a personal-best round of 44 against Kingston and a nine-hole average of 51.1 strokes. She finished 11th at the Olympic League Tournament to qualify for districts and was runner-up at the district meet, earning her first state tournament trip.
Port Townsend freshman Mackenzie Lake finished sixth at districts to qualify for the Class 2B/1A state championship. Lake finished 34th at state, the first Redhawks girl to compete at state since 2011.
