SEQUIM — The 2017 All-Peninsula Boys Golf Team is headlined by MVP Blake Wiker of Sequim.
Fellow team members are: Paul Jacobsen, Andrew Vandenberg and Josiah Carter of Sequim and Port Townsend’s Patrick Morton.
Sequim’s Bill Shea is coach of the year after leading four Wolves to the Class 2A state tournament.
Patrick Morton, Senior, Port Townsend: Averaged 43.22 strokes per nine holes to lead Redhawks. Finished tied for 13th at district tournament to make state for third time in four seasons. Best round was 40 vs. Chimacum.
Josiah Carter, Jr. Sequim: Averaged 41.53 strokes per nine holes. Qualified for second straight state tournament with second place finish at district tourney. Best round was 79 vs. Kingston.
Andrew Vanderberg, Freshman, Sequim: Averaged 38.38 strokes per nine holes. Finished fourth at Olympic League Tournament to earn state tournament berth. Ended up tied with Wiker for 26th at state tournament after shooting 84, 79. Best round was 18-hole 72 two times.
Paul Jacobsen, Freshman, Sequim: Averaged 38.23 shots per nine holes. Tied for lead at Olympic League Championships, lost title in playoff. Qualified for state tournament and made cut, finishing 37th. Best round was 72 vs. Kingston.
