AMERICAN LEGION: Wilder Seniors pitchers shine in 3-0 victory

PORT ANGELES — The Wilder Senior Baseball Club got back on the winning track, getting outstanding pitching from a trio of hurlers who fired a 13-strikeout, four-hit shutout to beat the Kitsap County Rebels 3-0 on Monday at Civic Field.

Rylan Politika started the game, getting the victory by going 5⅔ innings and striking out six while allowing just two hits. Braydan White pitched 2⅓ innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five. Alex Angevine pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save. He allowed one hit and struck out two.

Wilder Senior didn’t score until the fifth inning, but finally broke through with some clutch hits in the fifth. They picked up one run on a Luke Flodstrom single. After a wild pitch, Nate Basden went in to pinch run, moving to third base on a passed ball. Angevine then hit an RBI single to third base to score Basden.
