AREA SPORTS BRIEF: Olympic Pickleball Tournament returns

PORT ANGELES — The Olympic Pickleball Tournament was revived this year after a four-year hiatus due to COVID. The three-day event was held this week at Roosevelt Elementary School in Port Angeles.

The gold medal winners were:

Women’s doubles 3.0 — The teams of Teresa Martin/Kim Gebauer and Sherry Gyoval/Annette Clem.

Men’s doubles 3.0 — John Doherty/Chris Berry.

Mixed doubles 3.0 — Sherry Gyoval/David Arenda and Nicole Lepping/Tim Williams.

Women’s doubles 3.5 — Aubrie Jenkins/Shannon Thaxton.

Men’s doubles 3.5 — Drew Ealey/Scott Jackson.

Mixed doubles 3.5 — Cameron Long/Ty Hathaway/Erica Mack/Brandon Mack.

Women doubles 4.0 — Tanja Gruber/Megan Poe.

Men doubles 4.0 — Jeff Gonzales/Tanner Hienricks.

Mixed doubles 4.0 — Megan Poe/Steve Bennett.

Women’s doubles 4.5 — Shanna Bo/Jennifer Cox.

Men’s doubles 4.5 — Vebol Bo/Robert Isaacson.

Mixed doubles 4.5 — Shauna Bo/Robert Isaacson.
