PORT ANGELES — Registration is now open for the Great Olympic Adventure Trail run being held Sept. 8.
New events at this year’s races will be a 50K run (roughly 31 miles) and a second wave of half-marathon because past years’ half-marathons have sold out.
The two half-marathon waves will start one hour apart, with starting times of 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The 50K run adds some lakefront scenery to the race with an out-and-back run on the Spruce Railroad Trail after the full marathon course.
Log Cabin Resort on Lake Crescent will again sponsor the GOAT run finish-line party.
There’s no T-shirts, but runners receive a GOAT run pint glass … along with contents.
The 50K starts at 7:30 a.m. with an 8-hour time limit. This race is limited to the first 100 people who sign up. The cost is $80 and the shuttle leaves from Joyce at 7 a.m.
The full marathon starts at 8:30 a.m. with a 7-hour time limit. The cost is $70 and limited to the first 100 people. Runners must take the 8 a.m. shuttle from Joyce to the starting line.
Each half-marathon is limited to 100 runners and the cost is $50. Shuttles leave Joyce at 9:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. wave and 10:30 a.m. for the 11 a.m. wave.
