AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: EJ Little League to host district tournament

PORT TOWNSEND — The East Jefferson Little League announced Tuesday that it has been selected to host the Majors baseball tournament for the Washington District 2 Little League conference this year.

The conference, which serves youth in Kitsap, Pierce, Mason, Jefferson and Clallam counties, will take place beginning June 29 and is expected to last several days.

The Washington District 2 Little League conference provides an invaluable opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talent, develop crucial skills and foster a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Beyond the athletic aspect, this conference plays a vital role in strengthening community bonds by bringing families together from various counties, creating lasting memories and promoting a spirit of unity.

The tournament is expected to bring an economic benefit to Port Townsend and Jefferson County. Families are expected to travel from Kitsap, Pierce, Mason, Jefferson and Clallam counties.
