Future Riders As beat Neah Bay
PORT ANGELES — The Future Riders A Squad football team beat the Neah Bay Warriors 34-0 this weekend.
Meanwhile the Neah Bay Warriors B Squad beat the Future Riders B team 18-12 and the Neah Bay Warriors C Squad beat the Future Riders C squad 34-0.
In the A Squad game, the Riders defense held the Warriors to one first down. Oliver Martinez, Carson Waddell and quarterback Brayden Martin all played well for the Riders.
In the B Squad game, the Riders had the ball deep in the Warriors’ territory in the waning seconds, but the Warriors’ defense held to win the game. Halfback Ben Clemens was the B Squad MVP. Lalo Dominguez at defensive end had three turnover recoveries and a strip fumble in the final minutes of the game that gave the Riders a chance with a final drive.
In the C Squad team, Hunter Stone scored a touchdown for the Future Riders, though it did not count in the record book due to the mercy rule. It was the first regular season and second overall loss the C Squad has had since the 2016 season.
Next Future Riders games will be in Forks on Saturday. The C Squad will play at noon, the B Squad at 2 p.m and the A Squad at 4 p.m.
