North Olympic Baseball and Softball sign-ups
PORT ANGELES — Online registration opens Wednesday for North Olympic Baseball and Softball at https://nobas.website.siplay.com/.
Three in-person registration sessions for the upcoming youth baseball and softball seasons also will be held in the Vern Burton Center meeting rooms, 308 E. Fourth St.
League officials will be on hand to answer questions and assist with online registration.
The in-person sessions will be held Wednesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 for anyone who missed the first two dates.
North Olympic Baseball and Softball is affiliated nationally with Cal Ripken Baseball.
The league fields teams for boys ages 5 to 12 and girls ages 5 to 16. Boys ages for the upcoming season are determined by the age the player will be April 30.
Girls’ ages are determined by their age on December 31, 2017. Players will need to upload a copy of their birth certificate onto the website during registration prior to being able to participate.
Registration fees are $35 per player, with a family maximum of $90.
Skills testing for both baseball players ages 8 to 12 and softball players ages 8 to 16 who have not previously played on a majors team will be held at the Lincoln Park fields on consecutive Saturdays, March 3 and March 10. Testing is grouped by age level and specific times are available on the league website.
A baseball and softball skills clinic will be held at Lincoln Park from 4:30 p.m. to dark Monday through Wednesday, March 5-7.

Youth lacrosse demo
AGNEW — A lacrosse demonstration for boys and girls in grades 6-12 will be held by North Olympic Peninsula Youth Lacrosse at the Agnew Soccer Fields, corner of Barr Road and Old Olympic Highway, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Players are invited to attend and participate in the demonstration, meet coaches and register to play for the 2018 season.
Practices will begin in mid-February and the season will run until May.

Babe Ruth sign-ups
PORT ANGELES — In-person registration for Sequim and Port Angeles Olympic Junior Babe Ruth baseball players will be held at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5.

Refs needed
JOYCE — Volunteer referees are needed for the Third annual Crescent Adult Basketball Tournament in Joyce on Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18.
Referees will receive food and beverages for their time.
A couple of teams also are needed to fill out the bracket.
The tournament is open to players 18 years and older and has a four-game guarantee. It will have a pool play format Saturday, followed by single-elimination play Sunday to determine an overall champion.
The entry fee is $200 per team.
Proceeds will benefit the Crescent High School basketball program.
