AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: Port Angeles bowlers win first-ever match

PORT ANGELES — The new Port Angeles High School bowling team won its first-ever match, beating Olympic on Monday by four pins.

Senior captain Taylor Worthington led the team with a two-game score of 250, while Zoey Van Gordon had the single-game high score of 133. Roughriders Violet Mills, Kenadi Ring and Abby Rudd also improved their scores to contribute to the victory.

The Riders bowling team competed against Olympic Tuesday in Silverdale. Results were after press deadline.

Peninsula hoops

PORT ANGELES — Bayview Flooring breezed to a 73-32 win over Adam Tree Services in Monday’s only Peninsula Basketball League game.

Blake Sohlberg poured in 22 and John Textor 15 to lead Bayview. Ace Sech had nine and Jacob Pleines eight for Adam Tree Services.
