PORT ANGELES — Youth basketball teams from Port Angeles and Sequim won in two divisions at the annual Port Angeles Parks and Recreation’s Martin Luther King Jr. Classic this weekend.
The Port Angeles Junior Threat won the girls’ sixth-grade division, while the Sequim Wolves won the boys’ fifth-grade division.

SEQUIM — Sequim’s Karl Dryfhout notched his seventh career hole-in-one while golfing at Cedars at Dungeness on Jan. 9.
Dryfhout aced the 140-yard, par-3 eighth hole while using his 6-iron and a Bridgestone ball.
Jim Chamberlain, Ron Fye, Richard Clendening and Ferhan Kayihan, all of Sequim, witnessed the shot.
Super Player tourney
PORT LUDLOW — Port Ludlow Golf Club will hold The Super Player How Low Can You Go tournament Saturday, Feb. 3.
A one-player scramble event, the tournament will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
The entry fee is $50 for nonmembers and $30 for Port Ludlow members.
Green fees, lunch, range, KP’s and long drive entries are included in the price. Cart fees are $10 per player.
All players must have a valid USGA handicap.
A prize payout of $1,400 is expected based on a full field of 72 players.

Pirates’ Hold’Em
BLYN — Tickets are on sale now for the Peninsula Pirate’s Hold’Em Tournament, a poker tournament benefit for the Peninsula College Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs.
The event will be held at 7 Cedars Casino’s Club Seven beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3.
It is open to ages 21 and older.
There are ticket options for poker players and non-poker players.
A $60 ticket includes entry fee, two drink tickets and a meal.

Non-poker players can buy a $25 ticket which includes two drink tickets, a meal, side games and drawings.
Tickets also are available by cash or check at the gate at Peninsula men’s and women’s basketball games.
