ONALASKA — Forks stayed alive in the Class 2B Southwest District 4 volleyball tournament on Wednesday, winning loser-out contests against Pacific League foe Ocosta 3-1 (25-15, 25-27, 25-23, 25-20) and taking down Toledo 3-1 (16-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-22).

“It was awesome seeing the girls play smart, finding holes and mixing it up,” coach Jenn LeDuke said.

“We have been working on our coverage and it is showing on the court.”

Forks rallied after dropping the first set against Toledo.

“I am so proud of the hard work they are putting in and never giving up,” LeDuke said. “We lost the first set with Toledo for loser-out and the girls came back fighting.

“Kaidence Rigby has been on fire at the net and serving. Erika Williams led the court with her assists and seven aces for the night.”

LeDuke also pointed out Elizabeth Soto’s “amazing digs” in the wins.

Spartans Keana Rowley and Kaidence Rigbe received sportsmanship awards after each contest.

The Spartans (11-6) face No. 4 seed Napavine in a winner-to-state contest at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Adna High School.

The winner will advance to a third/fourth place match later Saturday, while the loser will have one more chance in a loser-out, winner-to-state match.
