Momentum Volleyball try outs set

PORT ANGELES — Momentum One Volleyball Academy will host try outs for a number of different age levels this month at Stevens Middle School, 1139 W. 14th St.

Try outs for players in the U13-U14 age group will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

The U10-U12 age group (fifth and sixth-grade boys and girls) will host try outs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 15.

Players in the U15-U18 age group will try out from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 20.

The cost is $20 per player and will cover membership in USA Volleyball.

The program is offered by former Port Angeles High School volleyball coach Christine Grunch-Halberg.

Sequim Little League

SEQUIM — Registration for the 2023 Sequim Little League baseball and softball season is underway at tinyurl.com/PDN-SLL23.

The league offers coed T-Ball (ages 4-6); coed Prep Division (ages 6-9) and a number of baseball offerings for boys from ages 7 through 16 and softball for girls 7-14.

Volleyball results

PORT ANGELES — Steim Dental, I’m Missing Trivia For This, No Diggity and Freeballers picked up wins during the second week of play in the Peninsula Volleyball League’s B Division Tuesday night.

Steim swept Timber Spikes 25-8, 25-10, Missing Trivia edged Harbinger Winery 26-24, 25-22, No Diggity got by 7 Cedars Casino 25-11, 17-25, 15-10 and Freeballers won by forfeit over Busta Spike.

Textor leads BDE to win

PORT ANGELES — Black Diamond Electric and Olympic Hearth & Spa recorded wins in Peninsula Basketball League play Wednesday night at the PC gym.

Sequim alumni John Textor poured in 24 points leading Black Diamond over Bayview Flooring 78-59. Bryant Hoch had 19 for Bayview.

Kenny Meier led Olympic Hearth with 20 points in a 66-37 win over Big Barn Ballers. Justin Riddle had 12 for the Ballers.

Larson, Schroeder active

LONGVIEW — Two North Olympic Peninsula products will take the field today for Lower Columbia’s NWAC Women’s Soccer Tournament contest with North Idaho.

Sequim sophomore Abby Schroeder and Port Angeles freshman Bailee Larson have contributed to the Red Devils’ West Region crown.

Schroeder has a goal in eight appearances as a forward this season, including one start.

Larson, a midfielder, has scored twice in 15 appearances, including two starts this fall.

2023 fee-free days

The Washington State Discover Pass Program has designated the Discover Pass free days for 2023.

On these days, visitors will not need a Discover Pass to park at Washington state parks and on recreation lands managed by state Department of Natural Resources and state Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The 2023 Discover Pass free days are:

• Jan. 16 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day

• March 9 – Billy Frank Jr.’s birthday

• March 19 – Washington State Parks’ birthday
