Riders netTERS Complete sweep of Knights
PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles was perfect in a season-opening boys tennis win over Bremerton as the Roughriders didn’t drop a single set in a 7-0 victory.
Coach Brian Gundersen, highlighted the No. 3 doubles duo of Kellen Garcelon and Isaac Shamp as his players of the match.
“I thought we all came out ready to play and nobody embodied that more than Kellen and Isaac. They were in control the whole time and it was really fun to watch,” said Gundersen.
Port Angeles (1-0) plays again Tuesday against Olympic.

Pirates blank Clippers
LACEY — The Peninsula College men’s soccer team rebounded from its first loss of the season over the weekend with a 4-0 win over South Puget Sound.
The Pirates led 1-0 at halftime on Pau Vivas Ayala’s eighth-minute goal off of an assist by Shu Kato.
Peninsula sat on that lead for more than an hour before Pirates sophomore Kai Biegler broke through for an unassisted goal in the 68th minute.
Don Vaios Davos notched insurance goals in the 78th (assisted by Tsubasa Abe) and an unasssisted score in the 83rd minute.
Taiki Setoguchi earned the clean sheet in goal after saving three shots on goal for Peninsula (2-1-0, 5-1-0).
The Pirates are back in action against Pierce on Saturday with a 2:15 p.m. game at Wally Sigmar Field.
