ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Logan Massie, East Jefferson wrestling

Logan Massie and his East Jefferson wrestling teammates had a big weekend.

Massie won the 170-pound West-Central District 3 1A subregional championship, one of four East Jefferson weight champs at subregionals — the others being Gage Berry, Lars Wakefield and Mi Amanda Lanphear-Ramirez.

Massie also won his weight division at the Bainbridge Island tournament in January, beating a highly ranked 4A wrestler to take the title. He also came in second at the prestigious End of Days tournament and went 3-1 at the Port Angeles Battle of the Axe.

Massie was also the Nisqually 1A League football MVP in December.

Massie and his wrestling teammates will return to action at the 1A regionals being held Saturday.
