ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Beckett Jarnagin, Port Angeles football

Port Angeles’ Beckett Jarnagin saved the best game of his high school career for his last game as a Roughrider.

Jarnagin simply had an incredible game for the Riders in Friday night-season ending 47-6 win over North Mason. He repeatedly got open downfield and had six catches for 164 yards, including four touchdowns. Jarnagin had touchdown catches of 32, 20, 13 and 36 yards as the Bulldogs simply had no answer for him. His 36-yarder was the best as he caught a ball tipped high into the air and then sprinted to the end zone for a score.

Jarnagin’s heroics helped the Riders win their fourth game of the year, the most wins Port Angeles football has had since 2014. The future is bright for the Roughriders with sophomore quarterback Parker Nickerson, who had 283 yards passing against the Bulldogs, coming back next year.
