ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Bobbi Mixon, Sequim girls basketball

Bobbi Mixon has been red-hot for the Sequim girls basketball team this past week, earning our Athlete of the Week award.

Mixon has averaged 22.5 points a game over her past two games, both victories, making 10 3-pointers.

Against North Kitsap on Jan. 23, she hit four 3-pointers and scored 20 points in a 66-51 victory.

She did even better in a close, tough game against North Mason on Friday, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 on her 3-pointers and scoring 25 points to go with six rebounds and four steals. She finished 9-for-13 from the floor.

Mixon’s consistent production is one of the reasons the Wolves are 8-3 and in third place in the Olympic League and 10-4 overall. The Wolves return to action at Kingston today.

Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Swain’s General Store in Port Angeles.
