Iesha Johnson

Every high school kid dreams of hitting the game-winner at the buzzer. It’s a dream very few kids get to live in real life.

Forks’ Iesha Johnson’s dream came true last week. She nailed a three-pointer with four seconds left in the game to help theSpartans beat Hoquiam 55-54.

Johnson’s actually hit two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished the game with 15 points.

Johnson has been a steady performer all season for the Spartans, who are 9-9 for the season and looking to finish the seasonwith an overall record over .500 after several down years.

Athlete of the Week is brought to you by the sports department at the Peninsula Daily News along with the sponsorship ofSwain’s General Store serving Clallam and Jefferson counties since 1957.
