ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: KC Spencer, Crescent basketball

KC Spencer

KC Spencer

Crescent’s KC Spencer had a game for the ages on Dec. 19 against Quilcene.

Spencer scored 39 points on 11 for 22 shooting, including 7 for 11 from beyond the 3-point arc, to help the Loggers win 58-53. It was the Loggers second straight win and their third win out of their past four games.

For good measure, Spencer hit 10 out of 12 free throws and pulled down 11 boards for a double-double. It was his second double-double of the season, as he scored 21 and grabbed 10 boards against Oakville on Dec. 16.

Spencer’s monster game pushed his season averages to 18.0 points and 7.1 rebounds.

Spencer is also a quarterback and defensive back for the Loggers’ football team and holds the 1B state record as a DB for most interceptions.

Athlete of the Week is brought to you by the sports department at the Peninsula Daily News along with the sponsorship of Swain’s General Store serving Clallam and Jefferson counties since 1957.
