Laila Greene is a big part of the reason the Neah Bay girls are back in the hunt for a medial at the State 1B Girls Basketball Tournament in Spokane this week.

Greene hit four 3-pointers (shooting 4 for 7 from beyond the arc and 7 for 11 from the field) and scored 21 points in Neah Bay’s 1B Regionals win over Mount Vernon Christian.

The Red Devils needed all of her points as they narrowly beat MVC, a team they dominated in the 1B Tri-District Tournament, by just seven points.

Greene scored in double figures in virtually every Neah Bay game this season, leading her team in scoring. She is also the reigning North Olympic League defensive MVP.

Greene and her teammates begin playing in the state tournament on Thursday.
