QUILCENE — A.J. Prater’s walk-off home run lifted the Quilcene Rangers to their second win over Port Townsend this season.
Prater hit a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a tie and gave Quilcene an 11-10 victory Friday.
Prater went 3 for 4 in the game with a double, four runs and four RBIs.
He also earned the win by pitching the end of the sixth inning and all of the seventh for the Rangers. He struck out two of the seven batters he faced while allowing one hit and one run.
Nate Weller doubled and scored twice for Quilcene. Andy Johnston added two hits and two runs, Ben Bruner drove in two runs and scored once, James Soderberg had two runs and Eli Harrison scored once.
Johnston started on the mound and struck out five batters in five innings while giving up four hits and four runs.
Freshman Ben Bruner relieved Johnston and pitched into the sixth inning. Bruner fanned five, walked six and allowed six hits and six runs.
Quilcene (3-1) begins SeaTac League play Monday at Crosspoint (0-1).
The Rangers then play Chimacum at home on Tuesday. Quilcene coach Darrin Dotson’s sons, Lane and Cole, play for the Cowboys.

Sequim 3, Bremerton 1
BREMERTON — The Wolves opened their Olympic League 2A slate with a low-scoring road victory over the Knights.
Essentially, Sequim stole the win. The Wolves swiped 17 bases in Friday’s win, and thievery played a role in all three of their runs.
Leadoff hitter Gavin Velarde, who had four steals, opened the game by reaching first base on an error. He then stole second, went to third on Evan Hurn’s single, and then stole home.
After reaching base with a one-out single, Hurn swiped second and then advanced to third and then home on two separate passed balls. Sequim led 2-0 at the end of the top of the first.
Bremerton answered with a run off Velarde in the bottom of the first but wouldn’t score again.
Ethan Richmond added an insurance run for Sequim in the top of the fifth. Ian Dennis reached on an error and was replaced by Richmond, who stole second and third and scored on Daniel Harker’s sacrifice fly.
Velarde, Hurn and Nigel Christian had Sequim’s three hits in the game.
Austin Hilliard also stole four bases for the Wolves. Hurn, Richmond, Christian and James Thayer swiped four apiece, and Justin Porter stole one bag.
Velarde earned the win by holding Bremerton (0-1, 3-2) to four hits, one run, three walks and striking out two in four innings. Christian pitched three innings of one-hit baseball and fanned two to take the save.
The Wolves (1-0, 4-1) play a nonleague game at Rochester (0-3, 0-4) on Monday.
