TULSA, Okla. — Several Lincoln Park BMX racers competed at the BMX Grand Nationals held last weekend in Tulsa, Okla., with Lincoln Park’s Wyatt Christensen and Kylin Weitz winning first-place medals.
Weitz, a Port Angeles sixth-grader at Franklin Elementary School, came in first in Grand Nationals in the 11 girls expert class. She also finished No. 3 in the national age group in the 1 girls category and No. 9 nationally in the 11-12 girls cruiser slass.
Christensen, a Kingston seventh-grader whose home track is the Lincoln Park BMX, came in first in the 12 boys expert class. With that victory, he earned the national No. 1 for an amateur boy and finished No. 1 overall of all amateur male racers in the U.S.
In 2024, Christensen came in No. 1 in a clean sweep in all categories — World No. 1, National No. 1, National Age Group No. 1 12 boys class and Race of Champions No. 1 12 boys class.
The Lincoln Park BMX track was awarded the No. 2 track for Race for Life fundraising. Lincoln Park was No. 2 in 2022 and 2023, as well. Lincoln Park BMX raised more than $19,000 for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Chloe Holloway finished #2 in the country for individuals, Sean Coleman #3 and Liam Winters #10.
Warren Christensen also received the national age group No. 14 medal in the 8 expert class and Elinor Christensen received No. 8 for girls expert.
A total of seven Lincoln Park riders competed in Tulsa — Lana Weir, 9 novice; Chloe Holloway, 11 intermediate; Kylin Weitz, 11 girl expert, 11-12 girls cruiser; Teyah Elofson-Cross, 12 girl expert, 11-12 girl cruiser; Warren Christensen, 8 expert; Elinor Christensen, 10 girl expert; Wyatt Christensen, 12 expert.
