“The weather was perfect, the course was in excellent condition and we had over 100 kids playing from 10 different teams,” Sequim coach Bill Shea said.
Jacobsen began his round on the back nine, where he made par on seven of nine holes. Jacobsen closed out his round with four birdies on the front to claim the title.

Sequim will be able to compete as a team at state with four players, but the Wolves could field a larger team as Liam Payne shot an 85 to finish 11th and qualify for the Class 2A West Central District Tournament on Tuesday at Gold Mountain Golf Club.
Wiker will be playing in his third state tournament, while Jacobsen, Vanderberg and Carter are making their second straight state trip. Sequim has finished ninth at state the last two seasons.
Three Port Angeles golfers also qualified for the district tournament: Mathew Locke placed ninth with a round of 83, Nate Drake was 15th with a 90 and Skyler Cobb (91) won a one-hole playoff to advance as the 16th and final golfer.

“Skyler Cobb did some great scrambling on the first playoff hole and won a spot to districts by making a timely up-and-down. He rolled in a tricky 15-foot putt for par to win the hole. All the guys on the team made some great shots and gained valuable experience on a beautiful day at Cedars.”
