BOYS BASEBALL: Roughriders’ pitching remains hot in win over C. Kitsap

Port Angeles has allowed one run and three hits over 12 innings

SILVERDALE — The Port Angeles Roughriders baseball team got its second straight outstanding pitching performance, giving up just three hits in a 7-1 win over 3A Central Kitsap.

The victory comes after an 11-0 no-hitter over Bremerton on Thursday as Port Angeles has allowed just three hits and one run over the team’s past 12 innings. This stretch of outstanding pitching comes after a season-opening game during a torrential downpour in which Port Angeles allowed 15 walks.

The Riders improved to 3-0 on the season.

A trio of Riders’ pitchers allowed just three hits. Kaleb Mullen picked up the victory, going four innings and giving up just one hit while striking out eight. Brian Guttormsen pitched two innings, allowing two hits, while Maesen Grice pitched a hitless inning.
