PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles dropped a rare Olympic League meet with a 94-86 loss to the Kingston Buccaneers.
Port Angeles’ Cameron Butler earned his first state-qualifying time of the season by placing first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 12.75 seconds.
Tristin Butler improved on his state time in the 200 individual medley by more than two seconds at Thursday’s meet at William Shore Memorial Pool.
The Rider achieved four more district times during their first dual meet loss of the season.
Wei-Yan Fu swam a district time of 24.51 seconds and placed second in the 50 freestyle, and Tristin Butler placed third and earned a district spot in the 100 breaststroke.
Port Angeles had two district qualifier in the 100 backstroke, Karsten Hertzog (1:08.16), who placed second, and Noah Sinnes (1:08.35), who took third.
The Roughriders placed first in three of the 12 events and outscored Kingston in two of the 12 events.
Fu placed first in the 100 butterfly, and Scott Methner won the 1-meter dive with 166.25 points.
Next up for Port Angeles is a double dual against Olympic and Klahowya on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. It will be the final home meet for six Roughriders.

BREMERTON — The Wolves continued to cut times in numerous events in an Olympic League meet with the Eagles.
“Our third meet was more successful than our previous meets,” Sequim coach Linda Moats said.
“We clinched two first- place finishes, five second- place finishes and four third-place finishes.
“Many of the swims for our team resulted in personal bests. It was great to see everyone swimming so well.”
Wendall Lorenzen won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 52.49 seconds, and Liam Payne was second (2:58.29).
“Wendall Lorenzen had a great swim, dropping 11 seconds off his previous best time,” Moats said.
“Liam Payne swam this event for the first time and was under 3 minutes. I expect he will better that time with more work on endurance and strategy.”
Payne won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:24.48, topping his previous best mark by 3.5 seconds.
“We made a few changes to his stroke technique this last week and it really paid off,” Moats said.
Christian Goodrich cut 2.7 seconds from his previous best time while finishing second in the 100 freestyle, and Alex Berikoff dropped 3.5 seconds from his 100 free time to finish fourth.
Berikoff cut 1.5 seconds in the 50 free and finished second.
