SEQUIM — Jayla Julmist posted a triple-double as the Sequim girls basketball team continued its hot start to the season, crushing Bremerton 76-28 to remain undefeated and in first place in the Olympic League 2A Division.
The Wolves have had balanced scoring all year and they were balanced again Tuesday night, with four players in double figures. They were led by Hope Glasser and Melissa Porter with 17 points each, and Julmist and Kalli Wiker with 14 points each.
Julmist did more than score points. She also added 13 rebounds and 10 steals and was halfway to a quadruple-double with five assists.
“Jayla Julmist had a solid overall game for our team, with offensive help from Hope Glasser, Melissa Porter, and Kalli Wiker,” Wolves coach Linsay Rapelje said.
Sequim removed all doubt over the outcome with a 23-3 second quarter, taking a 38-12 lead into the halftime break.
The Wolves have already shown they’re going to be an offensive force this season. They have scored more than 70 points in four out their six games and are averaging 69.8 points a game.
Sequim (3-0, 6-0), a half-game ahead of Port Angeles and Olympic in first place, next plays a nonleague game at Klahowya at 7 p.m. Friday.
