■   Top newcomers: Zoe Owens (12, GK); Taylar Clark (10, MF); Lexie Jeffers (9, D)

■   Player to watch: Maddie Boe (6 goals, 4 assists last year).

■   Playing style: “Working on a possession game — with 6 new starters it will take a while to gel as everyone adjusts to this,” Moseley said.

■   Outlook: “When everything is clicking, we have high expectations to make it into the postseason,” Moseley said.

“We have a thin bench this year, so reducing injuries and managing playing time is important.

“The captains have really worked hard on creating a positive team atmosphere and bringing the younger players into the system.”

To do so, co-head coach Julie Lancheros said they’ll need to “work hard and play as a team.”

■   Style: Counter-attacking and organized defensively.

■   Outlook: The Redhawks are still rebuilding the program with small (14 players), inexperienced squad.

“Looking to gel as a team and improve throughout the season,” Foden said.

“We need to be fit, have very few injuries and focus on team play.”

Forks

■   Coach: Joe Morton, first year.

■   Last year’s record: Season canceled.

■   Returning starters: None, but Forks has five seniors eager for some game action: Ashley Edwards, Tristina Smith, Rani Banks, Rebekah Johanson and Marianna Gomez.

■   Top newcomers: Two new students to the school, Payton Harding and Ashley Edwards, that Morton thinks will give the Spartans a chance to score some goals this season.

■   Player to watch: Banks is a defensive leaders who also has shown she can take a good shot and put it in the net.

■   Style: “We will have to play with a defensive mind set due to the fact we are basically a new team playing against the other established teams in the [Evergreen] League,” Morton said.

■   Outlook: The Spartans are rebuilding a program that didn’t have enough players for a team in 2013. Morton said the focus will be growing as a team and finishing the season.

“We will have to play a tough, smothering defense as well as taking advantage of scoring opportunities when we can,” Morton said.
