NORTH OLYMPIC PENINSULA HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Port Angeles ends 15-game skid; other area scores

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles ended its 15-game losing streak with a 36-14 win over Bremerton at Civic Field on Friday night.

Nate Angevine hooked up with Miki Andrus and Zack Withrow for 35-yard touchdown passes as the Roughriders scored three unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter to build a commanding 28-7 halftime lead.

Nick Lasorsa added a pair of touchdowns and Matt Robbins scored one for the Riders, who won for the first time in nearly two years.

Forks also picked up a big win Friday night, blasting Rainier 41-6 on the road.

Other area teams weren’t so lucky. Port Townsend lost to second-ranked Cascade Christian 58-22, Sequim was routed by Kingston 52-7, Eatonville dominated Chimacum 51-14 and Lummi took out its frustration from losing big to Neah Bay last week on Crescent, beating the Loggers 71-6.

Neah Bay plays at Tulalip on Saturday, while Quilcene’s game with Mucklehoot has been moved to next Saturday.
