OUTDOORS BRIEF: City to temporarily remove Ediz Hook floating docks

PORT ANGELES — On Wednesday, the Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department temporarily removed the remaining floating docks from the Ediz Hook Boat Launch. These floats will be safely stored alongside those previously removed and will be reinstalled in early spring.

This measure, taken after recent discussions with the local fishing community, aims to preserve the floats for the upcoming fishing seasons. A recent windstorm and ongoing debris buildup have caused significant issues for the floats. Removing them for the remainder of the winter season will help to ensure they remain in good condition for the year ahead.

The department continues to work toward a long-term solution for year-round float availability at Ediz Hook. If people have any questions about the Ediz Hook Boat Launch, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 360-417-4550 or parksandrecreation@cityofpa.us.
