PORT ANGELES LEFTIES: Ethan Flodstrom homers, drives in three in Port Angeles win

Three-games with Bellingham Friday through Sunday

PORT ANGELES — A pair of two-run home runs lifted the Port Angeles Lefties past the Dub Sea Fish Sticks 5-4 in a nonleague game Wednesday at Civic Field.

Port Angeles product Ethan Flodstrom found himself batting leadoff and opened the bottom of the first inning with a single.

Lefties leading hitter Riley Parker worked a 3-2 count in the No. 2 hole and blasted a two-run shot to left field for an early 2-0 lead.

Port Angeles went up 3-0 after taking advantage of a leadoff walk to Chandler Freeman. Singles by Isaiah Munoz and Peter King loaded the bases, and Flodstrom hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Freeman.

The Fish Sticks knocked Lefties’ starter Owen Dueck from the game when Kyle Sucinch cut the Port Angeles advantage to 3-2 with a two-run single in the top of the fourth.

But the Lefties and Flodstrom had the answer in the bottom of the fifth when the first baseman followed another leadoff walk by King with a two-run shot for a 5-2 lead.

Port Angeles’ bullpen allowed a two-run double in the sixth, but allowed just two base runners for the remainder of the game to close out the win.

The Lefties begin a three-game set with North Division leaders Bellingham tonight at 6:35 p.m. at Civic Field.
