PORT ANGELES LEFTIES: Lefties shut out by Bellingham

BELLINGHAM — The Port Angeles Lefties got solid pitching again, but unfortunately, their bats continued to struggle, generating only three hits in a 5-0 loss on the road Friday night against Bellingham.

Garrett Holpuch, Jamie Olson, Jake Petty and Cade Stuart gave up just eight hits, four walks and two earned runs. Starter Holpuch (Centralia) went 5⅓ innings, allowing eight hits and two earned runs. He walked one and struck out three.

Relievers Jamie Olson (Waldorf College), Jake Petty (Waldorf) and Cade Stuart combined to go 2 2/3 hitless innings, allowing three walks. They walked three and struck out one.

At the plate, Isiah Walz (Concordia College) had a double and Aiden Arriage (College of the Desert) went 2-for-4.

The Lefties (4-15 second half, 12-34 overall) play Bellingham (9-9, 29-16) at 6:35 p.m. Saturday in Bellingham. The game can be viewed on WCL Live. They finish up their series with the Bells at 1:05 p.m. Sunday then travel Monday all the way to Edmonton, Alberta, to begin a series Tuesday.
