MOUNT VERNON –The Neah Bay girls and boys will play for 1B Tri-District championships on Saturday after winning their respective games on Thursday at Mount Vernon Christian High School.
The top-ranked Neah Bay boys beat Cedar Park Christian-Mountlake Terrace 56-45 and will play third-ranked Tulalip Heritage on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Mount Vernon Christian.
The fourth-ranked Neah Bay girls routed Muckleshoot 70-40. The Red Devils will play host Mount Vernon Christian on Saturday at 7:45 p.m.
All semifinalists have earned regional berths.
In the 1A Tri-District tournament, the Port Townsend girls were blown out by sixth-ranked King’s 66-14 Thursday at Lynnwood High School.
The Redskins will play Eatonville on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School for the tri-district’s sixth and final spot at regionals.
Friday’s Games
The Port Angeles girls play Sumner in the 2A West Central District semifinals at Curtis High School in University Place at 6 p.m. The Roughriders have wrapped up a regional berth and are jockying for the top seed.
The Sequim boys also face Sumner and also at 6 p.m., but their game is a loser-out battle at Bellarmine Prep. The winner of that game must then win again on Saturday for a regional berth.
