TACOMA — The Neah Bay girls basketball team earned an automatic trip to the 1B state quarterfinals with a 58-40 win over Mossyrock in a regional game held at Mount Tahoma High School.
The Red Devils got five 3-pointers and 23 points from Allie Greene.
The Neah Bay boys, meanwhile, had their season end with a 65-59 overtime loss to Naselle in their regional contest.
Back to the girls game, Neah Bay and Mossyrock, the No. 7-ranked team in the state in Ratings Percentage Index, went into the half tied 23-23, but the Red Devils blew the game open with an 18-6 third quarter.
In addition to Greene’s big game, Ezrah Ray shot 5-of-6 from the field for 14 points. She added 12 rebounds. Cerise Moss hit 6-of-7 on her free throws and scored eight points total.
The Red Devils shot 18-of-24 from the free-throw line for the game.
The Red Devils (11-3) next play at 7:15 p.m. Thursday in the 1A state tournament in Spokane Arena against the winner of Cusick and Wilbur-Creston-Keller. Neah Bay is guaranteed at least two games at the tournament.

Boys game
Neah Bay was able to take Naselle to overtime but was outscored 11-5 in the extra frame as fouls took their toll against the Red Devils.
The Red Devils had good balance with four players in double figures. Julian Carrick, Kaeden Butterfield and Jodell Wimberley each had 12 points with Carrick adding eight rebounds. Jaden Halttunen had 11 points, while Tyler Swan had eight points and eight rebounds.
The Red Devils had 25 fouls called against them and Naselle was able to shoot 34 free throws, making 24 of them.
Unlike the girls, the boys needed to win this game to qualify for the state tournament. With the loss, their season ends with a 10-5 record. It was the last game for seniors Devon Halttunen and Ben Della.
