PREP FOOTBALL: Forks’ Dahlgren, Neah Bay’s Wimberley among all-state selections

Four Neah Bay players named to 1B team

FORKS — Forks’ Nate Dahlgren was named this week the all-state defensive 2B football team while a quartet of Neah Bay players made the state 1B team.

Dahlgren was named by the Washington Football Coaches Association as a starting linebacker. Dahlgren helped lead the Spartans to a 7-3 record this season.

Making the 1B offensive team were Neah Bay’s Azriel Swan-Jimmicum as an offensive lineman and Jodell Wimberley as a running back. Wimberley had a spectacular junior season, rushing for 1,839 yards and scoring 36 touchdowns for the Red Devils.

Making the 1B defensive team from Neah Bay were Adan Ellis as a defensive lineman and Tyler Swan as a linebacker. Swan had 83 tackles for the Red Devils and Ellis 67 and six sacks.

These four players were a big part of a team that made it to the state 1B semifinals.

Making the 2A defensive team was Port Angeles’ Jason Hawes as a linebacker. Hawes was also the Olympic League defensive MVP.

The 2A offensive MVP was North Kitsap wide receiver Logan Sloman.
