PREP FOOTBALL: ROOT Sports to televise Neah Bay football on Friday

NEAH BAY — The Neah Bay football team is one game from reaching the state championship game for the third consecutive season.

When the Red Devils play Lummi in the 1B semifinals, they will do so in front of a larger than usual audience.

Along with playing in front of a crowd at the Tacoma Dome, the 8-man powerhouses will resume their rivalry in front of a television audience.

ROOT Sports will kick off its high school football playoff coverage by televising Friday’s game at 4:30 p.m.

ROOT is channel 25 for Wave Broadband cable TV subscribers in Clallam County; channel 426 on the Dish Network and channel 687 on DirectTV.

After years of falling prey to the Blackhawks, Neah Bay has won the last four meetings, including the 2011 and 2012 1B semifinal clashes.

The Red Devils were particularly dominating on Oct. 4 when it routed Lummi 76-32 at Neah Bay High School.

Friday’s semifinal game also will be broadcast by Forks 1490 on all its formats, which includes online at www.forks1490.com, and on the station’s iPod and iPad apps.
