PREP FOOTBALL: Sequim and Port Townsend win easy; other scores from the area and the state

PORT TOWNSEND — Double the football seems like a great idea, but it made the season-opening doubleheader at Memorial Field as twice as ugly Friday night.

Sequim opened the North Olympic Peninsula’s football season by routing Chimacum 43-6, and following a brief lightning delay prior to the second game, Port Townsend bashed Port Angeles 49-0.

In another Peninsula-on-Peninsula showdown, Clallam Bay hosted and defeated Crescent 34-14.

Forks opened its season on the road and fell 12-7 at Vashon Island.

Neah Bay opens its season Saturday afternoon against Northwest Christian (Colbert) at 3 p.m. at King’s High School in Shoreline.
