SEQUIM — For the second straight year, Sequim was dealt a tough loss by River Ridge.
The Hawks beat the Wolves 43-6 at Sequim High School on Friday night.
Two of River Ridge’s touchdowns came on interception returns: One was picked off in the end zone, while the other was returned 100 yards for a score.
Sequim finally reached the scoreboard in the fourth quarter on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Christoffer Frick to Dylan Lott.
River Ridge beat the Wolves 34-0 last year.
The Wolves now look to reclaim their standing as one of the Olympic League’s top teams after a year off in 2012, as they open their league schedule with a home game against Bremerton next week.

ODESSA — Collin Haupt returned two kickoffs for touchdowns as the Red Devils rolled in this nonleague 1B matchup.
Both of the Titans’ touchdowns were answered with a kickoff return by Haupt, one for 75 yards and the other for 80 yards.
Haupt also had a touchdown run and ran for 93 yards.
Cody Cummins had three scoring runs and led Neah Bay with 134 yards.
Josiah Greene ran for 117 yards and a touchdown, while completing 6 of 12 passes for 72 yards and another score.
The Red Devils play at Clallam Bay on Friday in a nonleague matchup between Northwest Football League foes.

Clallam Bay 24, Muckleshoot 22
CLALLAM BAY — After nearly canceling the game due to a lack of eligible players, the Kings went to Clallam Bay and gave the Bruins a battle.
Seniors Matt Mohr and Calvin Ritter ran for two touchdowns each, and both surpassed the 100-yard mark.
Clallam Bay head coach Cal Ritter praised the two running backs as well as fellow seniors Evan Messinger and Joe Maneval.
“One things I preached on all week was the leadership of the seniors,” Cal Ritter said.
“They kept the team’s spirits high. They really stepped up and lead the team.
With two minutes left, and facing a fourth-and-five near midfield, Cal Ritter elected to punt the ball and lean on his defense to finish the game.
The defense came through.
“I had faith in the defense, and they made their best defensive stand of the game,” Cal Ritter said.
The Bruins host Neah Bay on Friday night.

SHORELINE — The Roughriders fell to 0-2 after a big loss on the road to the Knights.
King’s tallied the first 35 points of the game before Port Angeles scored on a 31-yard pass from Nate Angevine to Matt Robbins.
It was the second week in a row that Angevine and Robbins have hooked up for a long touchdown pass.
Robbins also scored the Riders’ other touchdown on a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter.

BREMERTON — The Cowboys opened their season with a loss to the Eagles at Silverdale Stadium.
Chimacum tied the game 7-7 early in the second quarter on a 35-yard pass from Alex Morris to James Porter.
But Klahowya reeled off 33 straight points to win going away.
The Cowboys host Bellevue Christian on Friday night at Memorial Field.
