CHIMACUM — The Chimacum defense stood tall late, forcing two turnover on downs by Klahowya as the Cowboys picked up their first win of the season in a 22-16 Olympic League 1A thriller at Memorial Field on Friday night.
Senior quarterback Henry Brebberman had a big night through the air completing 16 of 25 passes for 325 yards, including touchdown passes of 93 yards to Carson McConnell and nine to Bjorn Danaan/Devas and Clayton Smith for Chimacum (1-0, 1-3).

BELFAIR — The Wolves regrouped after last week’s close loss to North Kitsap, going up 21-8 at halftime on two touchdown passes by sophomore Kobe Applegate and 27-8 after three quarters.
Applegate put up great numbers in his first extended varsity action going 18 of 23 for 255 yards and the two TD passes with no interceptions.
Michael Young scored on a 34-yard run and a 17-yard pass reception for the Wolves and Garrett Hoesel added a 29-yard pass reception for Sequim.
Walker Ward carried 22 times for 79 yards and a score for Sequim (1-1, 3-1).

NEAH BAY — The Red Devils (3-0) have beaten an opponent ranked in the state’s Associated Press poll twice in as many weeks after outlasting the Blackhawks in a nonleague game between league opponents.
Neah Bay beat Quilcene 60-39 last Saturday.
The Red Devils and Blackhawks squads will meet again at Lummi on Friday, Nov. 1.
