PREP ROUNDUP: Sequim boys basketball crushes Vashon

SEQUIM — The Sequim boys basketball team had five players in double figures and a solid game from Jamison Gray in beating Vashon 84-44 this weekend.

Keenan Green led the team with 22 points in Saturday’s victory. Solomon Sheppard had 13, Charlie Grider and Mason Rapelje each had 12, and Zeke Schmadeke had 11. Jamison Gray had eight points and led the team with 10 rebounds. Ethan Melnick had eight rebounds. Schmadeke and Sheppard each had four steals.

Sequim (0-1, 3-1) has a tough Olympic League game at 7 p.m. today at home against a good Bremerton (1-0, 3-0) team.

Tenino 65, East Jefferson 60

TENINO — The East Jefferson boys basketball team got solid games from its big three of Keidan Guzman, Stuart Dow and Brody Moore, but fell on the road 65-60 this weekend in a nonleague game against Tenino.

Guzman led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds, hitting three 3-pointers. Moore had 12 points, while Dow had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Dow added five blocks while Traycen Brown had seven points.

The Rivals (1-1, 1-2) next host Seattle Christian (0-3, 2-3) at 7 p.m. today at Port Townsend High School in a Nisqually League game.
