“Zach Thompson played great for us. He handed the ball and led our team,” said coach Craig Brooks.
Keenan Green hit three 3-pointers and scored nine points.
Sequim (1-2, 2-4) plays again tonight at 5 p.m., hosting Granite Falls (1-6).

LYNDEN — Going up against the No. 2-ranked 2A team in the state, the Port Angeles girls basketball team kept the game close until the second half, ultimately falling to Lynden 47-35.
The score was 23-21 Lynden at the half.
“We had our strongest first half of the year, down only two points at half to the Lions, currently 7-0 and ranked No. 2 in the WIAA RPI rankings,” said coach Michael Poindexter. “Our zone defense did a good job of disrupting Lynden’s offensive rhythm and we rebounded well on both ends of the floor.”
“Anna Petty did an exceptional job of floor leadership and offensive attack mentality. Piper Williams and Teanna Clark had good nights defensively along the baseline in our zone defense,” Poindexter said. “Lynden’s guard depth and physicality made it difficult for us to score much in the second half, but we were pleased with our defense throughout the contest.”
Petty led the Roughriders with 15 points and six rebounds, while Lindsay Smith scored seven. Lexie Smith led the team with nine rebounds, adding five points, while Paige Mason had seven rebounds and four points.
The Roughriders (3-1, 3-5) played 6-1 Sehome on Wednesday after press deadline. Sehome previously beat an undefeated WF West team in the tournament being held at Lynden High School.
