TACOMA — The Quilcene girls basketball team upset second-place Evergreen Lutheran 46-41 in 1B Sea-Tac League play.

“[We] played with desire, intensity, and a ton of heart,” Rangers coach Briana Weller said of Saturday’s game.
“They worked together as a team unit and had one heck of a game.
“The girls played tough defense, hustled for loose balls and rebounds, kept their turnovers down, ran their offensive sets with precision, and just really wanted to win this game.”
Megan Weller paced Quilcene’s offensive attack with 24 points, six rebounds and seven steals.
Sammy Rae pulled down 13 rebounds to go along with eight points and seven assists.
Allison Jones contributed five rebounds, three assists and four steals; Jerrica Viloria had four rebounds and five steals; Katie Bailey grabbed eight rebounds and Taylor Burnston and two boards.
