SEQUIM — Midway through its marathon week, the Sequim baseball team is in good shape.
The Wolves won their second game in a row Tuesday, dropping the Klahowya Eagles 9-3 behind a strong performance from Tyler Campbell on the mound and at the plate.
Campbell went five innings, striking out three and giving up three earned runs and four hits, to earn the win for the Wolves .
He was also 2-for-2 with the bat, driving in three runs to lead a Sequim lineup that scored eight runs in the first four innings.
The third game of a grueling week — Sequim plays five games between Monday and Saturday — the Wolves have won two of three so far to stay near the top of the Olympic League standings.
“Two big wins, after that [4-1] loss to Kingston [on Monday],” Sequim coach Dave Ditlefsen said.
“We’ve been getting good pitching. Guys are going deep in games, so I think we’ll get through this week.”
Those arms will surely be tested today.
Sequim (4-2 in league, 6-2 overall) hosts the powerful Chimacum Cowboys at 4 p.m. in a nonleague affair.

PORT TOWNSEND — The Redskins (0-1, 1-5-1 overall) scored early to earn their first win of the season on Wednesday.
Louis Gitelman found the back of the net for Port Townsend in the fourth minute of play, and the Redskins defense held on from there.
“We played well today and had some people in different positions today that really stepped it up,” Port Townsend coach Pat Kane said.
The Redskins head to Olympic on Monday for an Olympic League game.

SEQUIM — The Wolves (0-1, 4-4) poured on the offensive pressure in the second half to seal a nonleague victory Wednesday.
Mitch McHugh scored two goals between the first and second halves to help Sequim snap a four-game losing streak.
“It was a muddy game, but the kids played well,” Sequim coach Dave Brasher said.
Sequim will travel to North Mason on Tuesday to take on the Bulldogs.

SEQUIM — The Wolves (5-0, 7-0) dominated the Eagles in Olympic League play Wednesday to continue their undefeated season.
Demiree Briones picked up the win on the mound, going all five innings while fanning seven.
Maddy Zbaraschuk went 4-for-4 to light up the offense, including a home run and a grand slam.
Teammates Rylleigh Zbaraschuk, Lea Hopson, Alexas Besand and Briones each had multi-hit games.
The Wolves take on Bremerton at home Monday.
